Those who signed up please take note...
dion, TPCT

Everytime I take a look at the nelos, it takes my breathe away. I've never dreamt of the slightest possibility of being able to row in one, let alone having the opportunity to be a "keeper" of 12 world class boats.
We really need to appreciate the sacrifices that Jiao Lian has made to make it possible for our team to improve and have a level playing field with the rest of the institutions.
Team...I do hope that none of you will ever, ever take the Nelos and more importantly Jiao Lian foregranted. We have no right to do so. Respect him, respect his property.
Moving on, I know that training has been up-ed to twice a day. While everyone *well...excluding me for the past few weeks* continues to train hard, remember to get sufficient rest and play as well. Which I think shouldnt be much of a problem. Haha.
I leave you with a quote from Stevie Wonder:
-We all have ability. The difference is how we use it.
Team Team Team listen up! Uncle Sam has requested for all Team Temasek sportsmen to wear the new Team Temasek shirt on the first day of school.

So in case I forget to remind you all the week before sch starts, you all remind each other ok!

:D

What is it with us and maple leaves?

I don't know. =S

ANYWAY... for those of you who couldn't/didn't go to help with the moving of the beautiful Nelos (yes, they have arrived, in case you don't know..) here's what you might have missed.

Unveiling: (please turn on your speakers)

Following that:

The moving out of all the boats. Hard work.

Tired people.

Step 2- Demolishing of the frames.

They looked like they had fun.

And....i kinda broke a hammer while demolishing. oops.

Anyway, what you guys missed was a great way to de-stress.

Step 3: Bangla work

Step 4: Transportation back to our lovely Bedok reservoir, which was so boring there are no pics of the process.

Step 5: Unwrapping and installing the Rudder

Look at Damien, hard at work.

Step 6: Weighing and marking each boat.

For the record...

The Nelos are not numbered externally yet, but they are numbered from 1-10 inside

Nelos 1-4 are for the bigger sized guys, the seat will be right at the back.

Nelos 5-8 are for the middle ranged people, about Kok Wei's size.

Nelos 9 and 10 are for girls' usage, the seat will be nearer to the front.

All to bring to you..... our 12 beautiful new babies.

(however, the two on the far left are not for our usage. :) want to know why? Call this number.)

Good news: Everybody can now start training up their K1s. So far, Randall, Bryan and Zion have successfully started rowing K1s. Don't lose out to them ;) Kanbatte!

It is your responsibility as a Tp Canoeist to keep each other up to date. I expect all of you to act as leaders as what Coach said during the last few trainings. And leaders are, first and foremost: Responsible and full of initiative.

While desperately trying to find a quote that the entire team will agree upon I chanced upon this: Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them -- a desire, a dream, a vision.
Muhammad Ali, American Boxer
So suitable for Damien and Bryan dont you think? *Winks* But you gotta print it on your own shirt hahaha.

In case you all think that we are training hard enough heres what other poly's are doing while we train at BR and they...at MR and LSR...

A little note about terminology here. COMPULSORY really does mean COMPULSORY but OPTIONAL does not necessarily mean OPTIONAL : )

ANYTHING LESS THAN 5 TRAINING SESSIONS A WEEK AND YOU WILL BE LET OFF THE TEAM. I WILL BE TAKING ATTENDANCE STARTING MONDAY, 1ST SEPTEMBER.

Train hard team. We’re gonna kick some ass this year. NYP KAYAKING ~ YOSH!
___________________________________________________________________
Go figure team. Do you wanna get kick or do you want to kick? It time to pull up our socks. Others report by 6 45am. What more us. I expect everyone to be in the water by 8 30am doing your warm up. You want to be in the team, no complains. This is just the beginning. I'm sure you all know it. Today's training was nothing. Purely conditioning your body.

Those that are free in the afternoons may want to consider doing double training on your own. Those that want to catch up and start on a K1, make your own effort to stay back after lunch to practice. Nobody's going to baby sit anyone any more. You want to win,you train and you train HARD.

As many of you heard during debrief, Coach's nelos are arriving 16 Sept. Those that want to row it can continue to dream unless you prove yourself worthy of using his boat to Coach.

Leave your excuses at home. We cant be bothered to hear them.

TP CANOEING ALL THE WAY!

The password's been removed, because our anti-intruder system is so effective, it even keeps ourselves out.

Okay, 3 things:

1)If you haven't checked Sam's e-mail by now, please do. It concerns our TYR package, you need to choose a singlet and a polo tee and reply to Sam asap

2)Weijie's signing some of us up for the Standard Charted Run under the school (meaning the school pays. yay) So you can ask him about that

3)For tomorrow's water training, please bring shoes in case it rains. (in case you didn't get my message)
