Just to emphasis once again on certain things that I have briefed you guys about:
1) Training schedules- I trust that everyone is this team is discipline and dedicated enough to conduct their personal rowing training daily during weekdays. As mentioned before, the team has grown and I can no longer afford to arrange each ones timetable for you. Everyone of you are independent enough to carry out your own training.
And if you'd realise...since school is starting for all polys, the rest of the schools do not have a reservoir at their backyard. Instead, they have to travel down to MR, LSR or wherever to train. If you think about this, we have the upper hand for the next 6 weeks. Row more during your breaks while other polys cant. Thats definitely an advantage that we should be thankful for.
Mornings are to be arranged directly with coach. Those that have long breaks, I'd suggest that you all contact one another first and go together as a group instead of each one of you calling coach to open the gate for you.
Afternoons are COMPULSORY for those that end class by 4pm or even 5pm. Rowing will cease at 7pm SHARP followed by land/swimming training at 7 30pm.
Please remind coach if he forgets the time. The faster you keep your boats, the more time you have to grab a bite and when we start on time, we end on time or maybe even earlier.
2) Studies- Please do not neglect your grades as well. POL-ITE is of extreme importance to the team but so are our grades. The grades that most of you year 1s have produced in Sem 1 is not at all impressive apart from Shao Wei, Quim and Shaun.
Understand that our team believes in all rounded excellence which includes your studies because this is essentially why you're in poly. Learn how to balance out your studies and canoeing and practice time management. I'd suggest that all of you keep a planner for your daily activities so that you know how much time is dedicated to various stuff throughout the day.
If you find yourself struggling with projects and not being able to cope with the amount of trainings, please please come and talk to me so that we can work something out that is best for you.
3) Inter-team support- As all of you should know by now, our waterpolo team is having their POL-ITE when school re-opens on monday thru till friday. I'd like our team to go down and support them even if you might not know any of the members there personally. We're all water sports teams and its a good way to feel the POL-ITE spirit happening in TP.
I'll be going down to the swimming pool at 5pm this monday. I hope that the rest of you can come as well. Most of you probably wont have classes this coming week. So just text me if you're coming k then maybe we can meet up at a canteen first then head down tgt.
Have an awesome Sunday!
