Holiday Training Week 1

Monday: Land training 8am-9 30am
After that I dont mind going down to sentosa for some fun. How about that? Discuss on saturday again. :D

Wednesday: Water training 8am
Thursday: Water training 8am
*Since friday to saturday most of you have overnight cycling so push to thursday*

Trainings will be at 8am for this coming month. October will be at 7.30am.

Start focusing your mind and bring the correct attitude with you to training. I dont want to meet with people who think that they're going down for picnic and dating. You want to win, you train and you train HARD. People who come late, dont bother to come. Those that only turn up for 1 or 2 trainings a week out of 5 dont bother staying in the team.

POL-ITEs in a months time. Whats your goal? Think about it.

Initial designs up, because i don't like dragging things...

Design 1: With Graphics

This design includes graphics...

Lets assume we have a white based sleeveless (although i hate looking like a national flag...)

Any other suggestions for color schemes will be greatly appreciated.

Since it's decided that putting names is inappropriate, and nicknames are unprofessional, i thought maybe we could personalize it another way- by coming up with a nice quote to put on the front of the shirt, and signing off with ' -TP Canoe Team'

As for the back, the dragonboaters shirts have dragons on the backs .... I saw another shirt... TP Sports Club i think, it has a lizard on the back of it, the lizard being made up of the word 'TPSC". So i think having graphics would be a good idea...

I don't really think a paddle would be a good idea...maybe someone could volunteer to draw something?

Design 2: Text-based

Pure text...now that's helluva lot neater..... but, well...

If you ask me, it looks dead boring.

The fonts are actually pretty cool. I went font-hunting for about half an hour for them o_O

Design 3: Practicality

Suggested by Arun...

This is the most practical arrangement, because nobody will know to turn their heads 180 degrees to see the ambigram unless we tell them to. This way, its much easier.

You just can't see the images properly because this is the biggest size that blogger will allow me to upload the pictures without them being pixelated.

Suggestions will help in finalizing the design so we can actually start step 2: Finding the right shirts.

Amendments regarding wed water training. Not compulsory. Since you all are already going down at your own time continue to do so. Good for you all. :) So 4pm's training is off. Anyway coach probably will be coaching SAJC so no baby K's for majority of you all.

*Yes yes Aaron and Kok Wei, SAJC training this wednesday. Dont get distracted and go study uh!

Hey Juniors, details for tuesday are as follows..
Unofficial water training will be 10am at the club. For the most part, organized to let you guys spend more time on the boats, which is the only way to increase stability, which, as i know, is the problem for most of us, so don't worry about being too tired to study after that.
We'll be getting up around 12, before the afternoon sun hits us, then Hafiz, Cynthia and Arun will meet us to have lunch, then we'll go find a nice AIR-CONDITIONED place to study as a team. ( Dion already has an idea for one prospective location.)
Its awesome that everyone is able to make it, and this'll be our first team gathering other than for training. Wheee.
Seniors, i didn't see any of you online earlier, but you're welcome to come join us =)
As they say...... Row Hard , Play Hard, Study hard!
(Don't ask me who 'they' are, i don't know xP)
Row Together, Play Together, Study Together - TP Canoe Team.

For those who don't know, there will be no swimming tomorrow.

There will be one official water training this thursday, though. My advice is, do come down and practice a little before the exams leave your head spinning. Some of us will still be doing our own self-training even during study week, so i don't think its too hard to come down just for this thursday, unless you have lessons.

Last thing...

Our Team singlets. Doesn't feel right to leave the idea just hanging there.

At the same time, they can't be too shoddy....team image.

So we've got FBTs, and i'm in the process of creating a simple design..

like...

This is just a scan (with some small photoshop touchups) ....i haven't digitalized it yet, but when i finalize the design, i will.

As of now, i'm having problems blending the 'O' with the 'A'. If you have any ideas, help me out a little.

Oh yea, for those who don't know, this is an ambigram. To find out what it is, save the pic, rotate it 180 degrees and look at it again. =)

here's another example...

Yo Guys, just a couple of announcements...

Announcement 1)

Because of exams, from tomorrow onwards, water training will only be on THURSDAY and SATURDAY.

(meaning that there will be no training tomorrow)

You may still come down to do self-training, but while it shows your dilligence, i wouldn't really advise it because the main point of lessening the trainings is to allow you concentrate on studying during this period.

Announcement 2)

There will still be water training this Saturday, and it is especially important since now we are able to do our own self training, Coach would like to teach us how to perform proper rescue techniques. (Along with the SA people)

It will start at 8am, around 2-3 hours.

Even for those who are more or less stable in a JK already, you may have found that rescuing people in the JK is not as easy as in a 'T', so this training is especially important, its something that we all ought to learn, so i hope i can expect a full attendance from all of you guys, if possible.

cya =D

(Don't come down to the reservoir tomorrow :D)

You MAY notice a tiny difference in the banner.

ehehe. It wasn't MY idea. o_O

------------------
Just a reminder, lest some people um....forget.
Swimming and Land Training days for this week are swapped.
Meaning that Land training will be tomorrow at 6
And Swimming will be on Wednesday at 7
-----------------
And someone ought to upload the pics for Sam's birthday!
