From Kennieth, your lovely dear SDO....

5 January 2009, Team Temasek Day - Wear Red & Pledge your Support!

The Temasek Polytechnic Sports Club (TPSC), supported by SAA, will be organizing a TP-wide event, Team Temasek Day, on 5 January 2009, which coincides with the start of the Inter-Varsity/Polytechnic Games (IVP). This event aims to create a strong sense of institutional pride, as well as instil a vibrant TP spirit among staff and students alike. We are reaching out to all students, and seek your support in helping to publicise the event to the various Arts, Diploma, Sports and other interest groups under your charge.

The Team Temasek identity was originally created to build a team identity, foster institutional pride, and promote a sporting culture among the sports teams in TP.  However, we are expanding the identity to include all TP students, especially those not engaged in competitive sports, so that they can be an integral part of the dynamic and vibrant family that we call Team Temasek.

Team Temasek Day will be an excellent platform through which the Team Temasek identity is celebrated and enhanced.  As a show our TP spirit and Team Temasek identity, we are encouraging all students to don a red shirt/t-shirt on Team Temasek Day, 5 January 2009. For those without red shirts, limited numbers of red Team Temasek t-shirts will be on sale at the Plaza on a first-come-first-served basis.  There will also be a large banner at the Plaza where students can pledge their support for Team Temasek with their signatures.

I seek your help to encourage your students to don a red shirt/t-shirt on Team Temasek Day, and also to pledge their support on the Team Temasek banner at the Plaza on 5 January.  With your support, we are confident that we can celebrate our TP Spirit and Identity and make Team Temasek Day a success.

Best Regards,

Kennieth Chan

Seniors, you heard the man. Time to wear the 'team canoeing' shirts on that day. whoopie. (Whatever happened to our team kayal racing T_T)

Freshies, I've highlighted the little important segment there for you. Either you remember to wear a nice RED shirt on 5th Jan, which is a MONDAY, or, you could hurry down to get your very own errr.... 'limited edition' team temasek shirts.... (first-come-first-serve basis? -_- I wasn't aware those things were meant to be sold.)

So there =D When you see lots of people in red on Monday, now you know its not for Chinese New Year.

---------------------------

And in OTHER news....

Dear Freshies:

Because of us Seniors and Juniors having to train for the SCM (like mad dogs, i might add. Just ask Kok Wei xD), we know we've been neglecting you somewhat...

BUT DON'T FRET. It doesn't mean you get to lie at home and watch Spongebob Squarepants and eat Coffee-and- Potato-Chips (Whoops.) everyday..........

It was pretty heartening to see a couple of you doing pull-ups of your own accord when we didn't give any instructions to. Consequently, though, i didn't really see that particular lovely sight anymore... but i shall give you guys benefit of doubt because I like to think that just because i didn't see it happen, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

The fact remains though, that you guys aren't training as hard as you could be this last holiday.

Not to mention.... I know ... what you ate last Christmas.

(and what you are going to eat this new year)

The solution :

We have appointed one of you as an ad-hoc training head to be in charge of all the freshie trainings. To make it clear, it doesn't mean he gets to order you around or scold you guys or such. It means that he will receive the instructions for your trainings from Samantha and Weijie, and relay them, and make sure they are carried out. Is all. Until after the SCM.

And this rather unpleasant task falls to.......... GARY!!

*applause please*

You should receive further instructions soon. Until then, please make sure all of you have his contact, and vice versa.

(i'm sorry i wrote such a length piece just to announce this, but that's just how i am- horribly annoying *innocent smile*)
